An Initiative to Protect the People and Places We Love
Orleans on the Horizon is a communitywide initiative that connects ongoing Town efforts to conserve land, expand clean energy, reduce pollution, and limit waste under a shared vision for a safer, healthier, and more resilient future.
The initiative helps turn that vision into action by connecting residents, businesses, and community partners with high-impact solutions that meet their needs at the moments when they can make the greatest difference.
Together, we can help Orleans prepare for flooding, stronger storms, and other climate challenges while protecting our homes, infrastructure, beaches, wetlands, open spaces, and water quality. By caring for the places that care for us, Orleans on the Horizon charts a course toward a more resilient future while preserving the places, people, and values that make Orleans home.
Making Moves, Leading the Way
Orleans on the Horizon is centered around a developing Climate Action Roadmap that focuses on clear, high-impact actions for the community, called Big Moves. Shaped by input from residents, businesses, visitors, and Town leadership, these Big Moves will center practical solutions that reach the right people at the right time and lead to measurable progress. The Roadmap will not be a plan that sits on a shelf. It will be a shared guide for action that evolves with community needs and helps everyone play a role in building a safer, healthier, and more resilient Orleans.

Take Advantage of Heat Pump Rebates
Now that you have estimated your potential energy savings, take the next step toward a more comfortable, efficient, and resilient home. Mass Save offers rebates of up to $8,500 for qualifying air-source heat pump installations, helping lower the upfront cost of efficient year-round heating and cooling. Rebate amounts vary by system size and use, and additional income-based incentives may be available.
